Sam, Sherifa and I went to see the Chesapeake Carousel that is in Watkins Park, Upper Marlboro. The carousel is all original and housed in a large open aired pavilion. It was built in 1904 by Gustav Dentzel. I had found out the history while visiting Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum, this is one of 15 carousels that still exist.
Sam had fun riding the carousel, but I think we were both a little dizzy after we got off. It was 105 degrees that day..
He was definitely interested in the lights and mirrors.
