What a busy day we had.. & OUR first CSA pick up!!!

Today was really busy, but fun..
We went to my Dr., CVS, Wal-Mart, Giant, the park, and farm... We finally got more pictures actually developed YAY!!

We had a picnic at the park, ad we were the ONLY ones there..  The weather was really nice. I'm guessing that we were just there at the right time.. I guess this will change in a week or so, when school is out. One thing I well miss, peace and quiet at the park!

I was going to put him in the baby swing and take pictures, but he slept the entire time we were there. So it was just me picnicking all alone.. We did have some kids show up as we were leaving.

What we got in our first CSA pick up!!

Our first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) pick-up we got eggs, broccoli/ cauliflower, arugula, bok choy, mescalin greens, radishes, and buttercrunch.   This is all 100% organic and farm grown. I've seen all of it and where it comes from it's awesome.

Being Sick stinks!! Sam's vaccinations

Sorry I haven't posted new information.. We have all been sick for the entire weekend. Phil started getting sick last Wednesday as did I but Phil got the sinus and coughing (hacking). I just has a head cold and got to care for Sam. We got to take Sam to get his 4 month vaccinations yesterday. Sam was a trooper he was all smiles as usual until the needle stick. Then he cried a little more, but was back to all smiles as we walked out.

Since, Tylenol recalled all their child/infant medications we had to drive to several stores just to get the generic Tylenol. What fun..  After three stores, I bought the very last bottle.. At the last vaccinations (2 months), I learned my lesson regarding shots, babies and my emotions. I CAN'T take seeing my little baby in pain even if it is necessary and going to be best for them. I'm guessing that is that motherly thing, I've been told about..

Phil has done a wonderful job at being a DADDY. Something I was honestly questioning before Sam came into our lives. I feel very fortunate to have Phil as a parenting partner.. He's awesome.

Sam and Phil hanging out.

This weekend even though we were all feeling bad, Phil and Sam got to hang out. They like to keep me company in the kitchen. Phil loves being a dad!
He's already looking at car magazines.. I guess we are going to have to increase the amount of greasy clothes we go thru..
Sam also loves his daddy!!!

WOW!! Sam can move!

I'm so not ready for this..  Sam started out underneath the green octopus on the play mat.. And while I typed my last update this is where I found him!!

Yay, Friday.. I don't even know the difference!! Life's a beach (North Beach)

Today,
Sam and I went for our weekly walk on North Beach boardwalk and had lunch at Sweet Sue's Coffee Shop and Bakery! I guess you know what time I was there.. We found some shade and hung out for a while.. it was beautiful sunny and a little breeze, we

We saw a mama duck giving her babies some swim lessons.. There were 5 little ducklings and she would't let any of them out of her site. Made me fortunate to only have one.

We also saw some osprey over head they have a wingspan of 72 inches. They also have nests around the pier. They are really pretty birds.. I didn't take this picture.. it does remind me of the commercial..

Just so you can see the boardwalk I've added some photos below.. I'm standing in the middle and took a picture to my left and right. The lower picture includes the beach and park area.

Here is how Sam likes to spend his time at the beach!

On weekends they  have Friday night Farmers Market and beach campfire. On Saturdays, they have a Movie on the beach in the evenings.

I'll let you know about those later.. this summer.

Happy 4th month of Life!!! - Samuel David Leland Knowles

HAPPY 4 Months SAM!!!

Milestones that he's met so far

  • He has an endless interest in his or her environment.- He gets bored easily..
  • Squeals of delight, even at 2:00 am
  • Squeals of frustration
  • Squeals in general.. Daddy is getting tired of the squealing, but he doesn't spend ALL day with him :)
  • Holding his head up while sitting almost unassisted
  • Laying on his tummy head at a 90 degree angle
  • Plays with and reaches for mobiles and toys
  • Sleeps from 9:00 pm til 7:00, waking at 12:30

Sam and I had a full day yesterday..

We went to the Post Office, Library, Wal-mart and Giant! Sorry I didn't take pic cause I'm sure you all know what Wal mart looks like..

However, I did go to the world's smallest farmers market. It was literrally one amish farmer and his 2 kids selling stuff out the back of his truck strawberries, flowers, baked  and RAW milk!  Although this is suppouse to be good for you I can't do it!!

I'm facinated with Amish people next time I go I'm going to see if I can take pictures, they were in a truck, so they can't be traditional Amish, with the horse drawn carriage.

Then I got my hair cut and colored, back to my natural color, the first time that I haven't had a head full of blonde highlights.

I think it will take a while for me to get use too.. Maybe longer for Phil as he's never seen my hair this color. I can't remember the last time I had my hair this color..

Last night we finally got Sam into his crib, and without a fight.. YAY!!

Finally RAIN!! It's been a while since I've seen you.. 5/17/2010

I'm so happy to see the rain.. We were suppose to have lots of rain last week.. And only got a little.. needless to say the yard is suffering and  looks like a big dust pit!! So YAY!! for rain!! OF COARSE Sam has taken this opportunity to sleep!!!

All I want to do is listen to XM (Coffee House) and cook! Of coarse that means I have to eat whatever I cook!

Off note: I really like Tom Waits. I've never been a huge fan, but Coffee House (XM) plays his songs EVERY day..I guess that is why he's grown on me..

This is a picture of Sam's worm he LOVES it!! It rattles and makes noises. He also has a yellow/Gold blanket as a MUST haves!!

He's watching the "educational" DVD's we get from the library. At least he enjoys the music and bright colors, it keeps him smiling.. and laughing.

He's also got the Your Baby can read DVD's, thanks to Grandma Izzy. He likes the songs.. We also have found rock band music set to lullabies.. at Rockaye baby.com
The library carried all my favorites ( Beattles, Nirvana, Cold Play, and U2)

Combine Worm, Blanket and lullaby music and you get one sleepy baby! This is his nap time pose.. Can't forget a full belly, vibrating chair and mom rocking me to sleep.. He likes to fight his naps!!

When he's done with nap time then we start cooking!!
He's a great helper..He sits in his Bumbo supervising while I cook..

...more house and yard pictures 5/16/2010

Here is a picture of our house and front yard... the flower bed directly in front of the house has lilies, mums and wild flowers so it just looks like a bunch of weeds lined by lilies..

This is another garden, with a ton of stuff, I'mnot sure of...but lilies!! EVERYWHERE!!!

Herb Garden to the right of the house... we have thyme, sage, chives, cilantro and rosemary.

Ground covering evergreen, on the back/side yard.... bordered with MORE lilies!!!!

Backyard w/ grill and chairs.. We would like to eventually put pavers down to make a nice patio.. then hot tub, maybe firepit...

Left side of the house with Hostas.

These are the current photos..we should have some summer time blooming.. I'll add some more pictures.. of lilies!!

Day at the farm... 5/16

Yard Work 5/15

Sam sleeps in the truck while we work!!

Today we worked in the yard.. Phil mowed, while Sam and I weeded..Then we all mulched the trees and yard.. Well, Sam slept in the truck while we worked!

Sam Loves to be outside.. just like his parent!!

Most of the time he just stays in his carrier/stroller and we just push him around the yard, while we work..

This is the grass I hand cut... It was the worst ever, next year I'm using a hedge trimmer..

This is a Huge Blue Spruce
This holly tree got mangled during the snow storms in February.

View of the ornamental grass and yard that faces the street.

Peonies - we have both white and pink

This is the garden in front of the house, I have yet to weed as we have no idea what is perineal or weed...

YAY!! Still trying to figure this out.. 5/15

Sam is 16 wks

This is Sam working on his Boppy, I had him on our bed while I was in the shower.

He's gotten to the point where if I let him he's pushing himself up and over it.. in to a face plant.

We have several different toys we like to play on daily.. After mom takes a shower, makes the beds and cleans the rooms/bathrooms. We come down stairs and Sam gets to play in the Exersaucer..

He really likes to bounce, he started bouncing at 2 months.. Mom was here and was having WAY to much fun bouncing him..

Next it's on to the play mat.. The other day he scooted his butt all the way around the mat with out moving his head to do a 360.. He's not rolling over yet.. but I say that with a big YET.. He will be any day now.
