Day at the farm... 5/16

Open Farm at Lamb's quarters- Owings Md.

This year we joined a CSA (community supported agriculture) program at a local farm. You buy a share of the crop and you will receive a box of vegetables from what ever they have harvested that week. 
Above is a picture of the greenhouse, most of the crops are already out. They have 147 acres of land (below).. Sam and I will go out ad help weed the fields on good weather days.

They also sell grass fed beef, chicken and pork that you can purchase. These are some of the fryers .. Below are some of the hens, the egg layers you can't get more free range then they are seriously they were all over.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the cows or pigs, as they were smart and hiding in the barns.  I did get a few pictures of the horses.

This is one of the riding horses. I didn't catch his name but I'm sure we'll get it by the end of the summer. He's extremely freindly and loves attention.








The pictures below are of the store and where the potluck was set up. They did have hayrides for tours, however we are going to wait til later in the year to take Sam.
