Livin la Vida Mommy!!

This month has truly been all about Momminess!!! - I know that is not a word but it is in Erin world..

Tis the season for the 100+ weather, Sam and I have been staying inside.. And this includes 2 weeks of swimming lessons. I know that this sounds fun, and don't get me wrong it's a blast. However I wish they would have some how stretched this out just a little.
The classes are 9 days Monday - Friday at 9:45 - 10:15 At the beginning I had a hard time getting out the door. I got yelled at the first day when I got in the pool 10 minutes before the rest of the class. Evidently we were suppose to meet at the bleachers, something the receptionist failed to tell me.. so I got a stern look and verbal notice that  if I wanted to do any additional swimming I would have to pay!!

Sam wants to take his naps at 9:30, so every morning I get to take the child with no nap to the pool. He really LOVES the water so he's usually really happy once he sees the pool.
Phil got a chance to go last Friday..

Sam's Modeling Debut

"giggly sam"

These are several of the photos of Sam at 5 months that I have sent in for modeling agencies. Phil has been suggesting that we get an agent for Sam since he was born!! I finally got one after we sat for a family portrait in June.

"sinister evil planning Sam"

"What are these"  (outtake)

"How many can I get in my mouth" (out take)

Dad's trip (7/08-07/12/ 2010)

We had a great time this week..
Friday - We visited some of DC, Pax river Navy Base, Naval Air Muesem, Lunch w/ Phil
We had an awesome evening at North Beach Farmers Market and Car Show.

Dad enjoyed putting Sam on all the planes intakes..

Saturday we worked in the yard.. in the rain.. (picture to be added)
We also tried to go to Sharkfest at Calvert Marine Muesem, but the rest of the county was also there so we decided to NOT wait the 2 hours to go..

Ended up "exploring" Solomon Island eating establishments for a nice place to eat.. FAIL.. We are still looking.
Places we had explored:
Naughty Gull - it claims they are the "best kept secret"- we'll keep them a secret..
Ruddy Duck- They had a great brewery.. and Crab dip
Tiki Bar - had no parking so we passed them by still would like to go.
Ended with Dinner at Jerry's.. They have the best crab cakes. $$$ but pricey!!

Sunday
We hung out around the house.. until 5:00. We met with the Ashtons at the National Harbor, had dinner at McCormick & Schmicks and strolled on the boardwalk/ pier. On Sunday evenings they show free movies on the water.. I believe that this is funded by the parking garages as it costs $11/ per 3 hours. We caught the first part of "Goonies".

Monday- We went to Annapolis drove down to the city docks. Shopped for some NAVY attire. Got a super cool NAVY onesie for "Sammie D". We enjoyed the harbor view as we sat and had lunch at Pussers. It was a beautiful day!!

Memorial Day Vacation. Traveling to Kansas and Texas 5/29 - 6/05

Sorry for not posting recently!!! We just got back from vacation a week ago and I'm just now getting back to things.. It only took ten days to recover from a 7 day vacation.
The reason for this trip was to see the great grandparents. My grandma in Kansas and Phil's grandfather in Texas. So I don't know if vacation is accurate, but we still had a lot of fun.

We had a great trip, and Sam was pretty awesome traveling.. We left bright and early May 29 from BWI and flew nonstop to Kansas.. The flight was great , we had no trouble getting thru security. Sam charmed EVERY one he saw.. It's easy for him to do as he is the most adorable baby ever. :)

Phil looked really funny carrying all the bags. I made him pay a whole $3.00 to rent a cart.. He didn't protest to long.. Especially after our flight was a half hour early and my cousin picking us up was an hour late.. Although Kansas City airport is one of the easiest airports to get around.. The terminals are LONG!! Carrying 4 bags and a car seat will prove that.

While we were at my grandmas we had parties every night!..Sam got to meet all the cousins and Porter, who is 10 months older.
Saturday Taco night perpared by Nathan which was the only night that he cam over.. I was very bummed that he couldn't make it..
Sunday night- cook out.
Monday night- Crab legs @ Kyles, Dessert @ Katie's &  Emily's New House.
the most exciting part was watching Mike and April groop(sp) each other.. and look completely obscene.. (Rent a Room)

Tuesday night- Dinner out @ Plantation - recommended by Tate! What were you thinking!! that place was awful

I'm very happy that I got to spend the entire weekend with my cousin's Kaitlyn and April..  This picture is at my Aunt Kyle & Uncle Jim's house, we'd just walked to Emily's and got a ride back. Walking a short 5 blocks wasn't as short with a 14 lb wiggling baby. We all took turns carrying him.
We had a great weekend. Sam got to show off his poolside outfit.. Uncle Jim was nice enough to hold him up to the camera.

I miss having people around although they can annoy the heck out of you at times.. It is nice to have your people!!
Grandma was great too.. Her hip was really bothering her and she is using a walker to get around most of the time.

Wednesday June 2, we headed to San Antonio TX to see Phil's mom and family..

We got to the airport and were greeted by Mom and Aunt Dorothy, and plenty of awesome toys for Sam!!

We went to see grandpa immediately after we got off the plane..

It was HOT!! and MUGGY in Texas. Aftetwards we headed to Phil's moms where she has done an amazing job cleaning up grandpas trailer. I would love to have the talent of making the outdoors feel as homey as the indoors that she has.. I'm not a gardening person and don't think at least at this point I has the knack.. Maybe it will come later I'll keep you posted.. But don't hold your breath!!

We also had several parties in TX!!
Wednesday - Steaks
Thursday- Papasitos
Friday - Cookout at Dorothy's
Saturday - Party on the way to the airport in Aunt Mary's SUV..

Sam got to take his first dip in the pool while on vacation.. And he loves the water I guess it runs in the family

What a busy day we had.. & OUR first CSA pick up!!!

Today was really busy, but fun..
We went to my Dr., CVS, Wal-Mart, Giant, the park, and farm... We finally got more pictures actually developed YAY!!

We had a picnic at the park, ad we were the ONLY ones there..  The weather was really nice. I'm guessing that we were just there at the right time.. I guess this will change in a week or so, when school is out. One thing I well miss, peace and quiet at the park!

I was going to put him in the baby swing and take pictures, but he slept the entire time we were there. So it was just me picnicking all alone.. We did have some kids show up as we were leaving.

What we got in our first CSA pick up!!

Our first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) pick-up we got eggs, broccoli/ cauliflower, arugula, bok choy, mescalin greens, radishes, and buttercrunch.   This is all 100% organic and farm grown. I've seen all of it and where it comes from it's awesome.
